HanMo (漢墨, "Han ink") is an AI-assisted Chinese tattoo design studio operated from Taiwan. We exist for one reason: to stop people from wearing Chinese characters that don't say what they think they say.
What we make
You give us a short English intent — a feeling, a vow, a memory. We translate it into authentic literary Chinese, propose a few culturally accurate options, render your chosen one as a print-ready tattoo design, and deliver:
- A high-resolution PNG of the Chinese tattoo design (clean black ink, print-ready for your tattoo artist)
- A luxury cinematic campaign preview showing how it looks on skin (Leica editorial style)
- A short story card with the meaning, pinyin, and cultural notes
Everything is digital. We do not ship physical products, do not perform tattoos, and are not a tattoo parlor. What you do with the design — take it to your artist, frame it, or simply keep it — is up to you.
What we explicitly do NOT do
For clarity — both for visitors and for our payment processor's review:
- No human faces, portraits, likenesses, face swaps, deepfakes, or voice generation
- No logos, trademarks, brand artwork, or commercial identity design
- No hate speech, slurs, extremist imagery, or political attack content
- No sexual content, and zero tolerance for anything involving minors
- No physical products, no shipping, no inventory
- No cryptocurrency, gambling, weapons, drugs, or regulated goods
Both our Studio input field and our backend run a content filter before any AI request is made. Requests that match the blocklist are rejected before they reach the model.
How we ensure quality
- Cultural review prompts: our AI consultant is instructed to draw from Daodejing, Zhuangzi, Tang/Song poetry and Chan Buddhism — and to refuse clichés (龍, 虎, 永) unless explicitly asked.
- Free re-roll: if the first set of options doesn't feel right, you can regenerate within your order at no extra cost.
- Native-speaker check recommended: our Terms make it clear that translation is interpretive and we recommend confirming with a native speaker before committing to anything permanent.
Who runs this
